Summer Opportunities!

It's not too soon to start planning for Summer 2016.  The Wake Forest University Summer Immersion Program offers rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors the chance to dive deep and explore a particular field of study. Those selected for the program will enjoy access to world-class faculty, resources, industry professionals and a one-of-a-kind view from inside a career field.
The 2016 Summer Immersion Program will be offered in Winston-Salem as a residential program and in Charlotte as a non-residential program. The Wake Forest Charlotte Campus will feature six institutes: Business and EntrepreneurshipLawLeadershipMedicineSports Marketing,  andTechnology. Each session will feature a day trip to the Wake Forest University campus in Winston-Salem. The Winston-Salem residential program will offer two institutes: Business and Entrepreneurship and Medicine. Each institute will accept a select number of students. Tuition includes lunch, books and supplies, all institute-sponsored field trips and activities, as well as transportation.

Athletic Update 11/30 - 12/4

Welcome! The following is what The NCLA Athletic Department has going on this week. Disclaimer, The NCLA cannot control the weather or our opponents. Thus, for the most current up to day information it is always wise to visit Thencla.org website for the What, When, and Where.

The NCLA Basketball Season kicks off this week! To view all basketball schedules go the Academic Calendar on the website. From this calendar you can edit it to only view whichever calendar you choose, click here for a short cut. 

The NCLA Boosters will continue to offer Year Long Home Game passes until Tuesday, December 2. Season tickets may be purchased to allow you to attend all home games in all sports for the 2015-2016 year.

Student tickets are available for $30.00 and may not be shared. Adult tickets are available for $50.00 and may be shared. The adult pass may be used by only one adult per game. Additional individual game tickets may be purchased at the door. $2.00 for students, $3.00 for adults or $10.00 for a family. So if you want season passes for yourself or your child you will need to fill out a brief application, second page, click here. 

If you wish to purchase a season pass, please fill out the application, write a check payable to The NCLA Boosters, and drop off the application and check in an envelope labeled, "Season Passes" ATTN: Mr. Lake, at The NCLA Front office.

Online Book Fair is still open until November 30!


The online fair is still open through the 30th of November.  You can order online with even more titles to choose from.  Our school gets credit for these sales also and the books will be shipped free of charge to our school.  The date of delivery is set to arrive before the holidays. The Forsyth County Bookmobile is Coming!

The Forsyth County Bookmobile is Coming!

Thanks to Mrs. Bullard The NCLA is happy to announce the Forsyth County Library's bookmobile stops at The NCLA on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Their next visit will be December 10th.

Students in grades 7-11 may visit the bookmobile from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. on bookmobile days. Important note, parents, you will have to park in the lot and wait and/or accompany your student to the bookmobile. (Students in lower grade levels may visit the bookmobile with their teacher during school hours. Please check with your child's teacher to learn their schedule).

Students must have a valid Forsyth County Public Library card to visit the bookmobile.
They may bring their completed and signed library card registration form to the December 10th visit (Children and Youth 4-17 link below).

Parents may also utilize the bookmobile. Please complete the Adults registration form (Adults and Youth Over 17 link below).


NOTE: If your high school student is a car rider, please park your car in the parking lot. 
Do not wait in the car line for them to finish at the bookmobile.

What students and parents can expect:
  • The bookmobile will have books and magazines available to check out for all library card holders.
  • The bookmobile will accept book returns for the branches in the Forsyth County Public Library System
  • Students may also return bookmobile books to Forsyth County Public Library branches.
  • The bookmobile will not be able to bring pre-ordered library books to students. However, students may pre-order and pick-up books at the Kernersville Branch Library.
