Partnership, Sponsorship, and Volunteer Opportunities for The NCLA Athletic Program

Become a Sponsor and get a banner in the gym, click here.

Do you or someone you know have a business and want to reach parents, teachers, students, not to mention those who visit our gym when attending games, concerts, and other events? Become a sponsor, follow the link above and scan and then email a copy to Mr. Lake, klake@thencla.org or drop off a hard copy to the Front Office (Summer hours of operation Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM).

Don't have a business but still want to help out? Become a Falcon Fan and support The NCLA athletic program, click here.

The Falcon Fans Athletic Boosters of The NCLA are open to all families and supporters of The NCLA athletics program.  At least one family member must be a PTO member or a PTO Silver Falcon.  The NCLA athletics program is fully supported by donations and sponsorships along with income from ticket sales, concessions and the sale of spirit wear.  There is no membership fee to join the Falcon Fans.  If you would like to make a donation, a suggested amount is $10.00 per individual or $25.00 per family.  Any donations of $200.00 or more will be included in our recognition of sponsors by having your name added to the banner hanging in the gym.  Please let us know if you would like additional information about our sponsorship program.  The athletic program is still in a building phase.  Because of this all funds raised this year will be used for uniforms, equipment and field construction and maintenance.

Can't help financially, but still want to support Athletics? Volunteer and support The NCLA athletic program, click here.

The athletics boosters are the support staff for the athletics program and will need volunteers in multiple areas throughout the year.  For every home game in every sport we will need ticket sellers, concession stand workers and a clean-up crew.  Please indicate below all areas you can help with.  Each group will also need 1 or 2 coordinators to manage the committee needs and volunteer schedules.  Please indicate any area where you can be a coordinator.

Greetings,

It is imperative that you read the following document and fill out the forms that can be found on The NCLA website, click here, if your student is interested in participating in sports for the 2015-2016 season. Remember to also have your medical provider fill out the sports physical form or go to a clinic and have them fill it out. Once your paperwork is complete, please turn in a hard copy to the Front Office (summer hours of operation Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and ask the office personal to place the paperwork in Mr. Lake’s mailbox, or fax the paper to (336) 769-2254 ATTENTION Mr. Lake, or scan the paperwork and email it to klake@thencla.org.

The deadline for completing and turning in paperwork is Monday, August 3rd. This ensures time for your student-athlete to be eligible to participate in tryouts.

Forms That MUST be filled out, submitted, and filed before participation: The deadline for fall sports (MS/HS boys and girls Cross Country, MS Co-ed Soccer, HS Boys Soccer, and MS/HS girls Volleyball) is August 3, 2015. But I would love to have all these forms completed by all athletes, in all sports, before school.

    • Emergency Information and Consent for Medical Treatment
    • Photo Release Form
    • Risk Acknowledgement Form
    • Back of Athletic Handbook
    • Sport Preparticipation Examination Form (physical)

Important items to consider:
  • Students may tryout for multiple sports, but can only participate in one. However, once the student commits to a sport he/she can no longer tryout for another. If a student is cut after tryouts, the student is free to tryout for another sport assuming the tryouts for the additional sport is still available.
  • A specified amount of playing time is never guaranteed.
  • Contests and practices are rarely held on Sundays and holidays, practice sessions are sometimes scheduled during school vacation periods.
  • For some of The NCLA sports teams, “cuts” may be necessary.
  • NO SPECIAL FAVORS/EXCUSES, it is the student's responsibility for academic work, particularly in cases where classes are missed for game participation.
  • In the event that a student is participating on a The NCLA team and an out-of-school team, club, and/or activity concurrently, coaches expect The NCLA team to take priority if there is a conflict.
  • Each student must be currently and fully enrolled to participate in any sports activity and must be in school at least half of the day on each game day.
  • The school team is the athlete’s priority. An athlete may not miss any school athletic activity as listed above to participate in a non-school athletic event (i.e. – Travel teams, AAU, Recreational teams, etc.).
  • Any student who is disciplined in other areas of school life is subject to suspension from the athletic program to be determined by the Coach, Athletic Director and/or Administration.
  • The student will replace lost, damaged, or broken equipment and/or uniforms.
    • Parents of athletes who do not return uniforms or damage uniforms will be billed for the cost of replacing these uniforms. If restitution is not made for the lost and/or damaged items, the student athlete is not eligible to participate in any further school athletic activity.
  • All paperwork must be submitted and on file before the start of Tryouts.
  • There is a $35.00 dollar fee per student, per sport, this will be collected after the first week of practices once cuts, if any, have been made.

Transportation:
  • The NCLA will not provide transportation to all regularly scheduled away games, unless
otherwise noted. Parents are solely responsible for getting their athlete to and from games and practices.
    • This means that if a student is late or cannot make it to a practice/game it will likely affect his/her playing time.

Academic Eligibility:
  • Failure (F) of a unit of study during the previous marking period may make the student/athlete ineligible for athletics in the succeeding marking period.
  • During the current marking period, any student whose grade drops below a D for his/her overall average for the quarter, will not be allowed to practice or play until that grade is back to passing.
  • Coaches are required to pass out and collect The NCLA Grade Report Form. The student-athlete is required and responsible for having their teachers/instructors fill out this form.
  • If the student athlete fails to get the form filled out s/he will not be allowed to participate in any athletic activity.
  • A student athlete may not participate in an athletic event if he/she has received an office referral that results in disciplinary action on game day, or anytime during the season.
    • First offense – one game suspension
    • Second offense – three game suspension
    • Third offense – removal from the team

School Attendance and Athletic Participation:

  • Students who receive in-school or out-of-school suspension will not be allowed to participate that day.
  • Students returning from athletic trips or late night games are expected to be on time for school the next day and not “sleeping in,” causing them to miss classes.
