Grades 1-4 Teacher Assignments and Open House Updates for Kn and 5-6
I know the excitement and the anticipation is building. We are thrilled for you all to meet your child's teacher Thursday evening at our Open House for grades 1-4. Class lists will be posted and visible outside classroom doors tomorrow starting at the event times for Grades 1-4. Parents can select the information session in the gym that fits their schedule 5-5:30 or 5:30-6.
Calculators will also be on sale if you need to purchase for grades 3-6. The price for the suggested item is $15.00 for those who still need one for supply lists.
As another reminder, Kindergarten has a separate Open House time set which will be held on Friday from 3-5 pm. We do welcome all our families to the Open House scheduled for Thursday as this will be time to mingle and meet new families. Teachers in Grades 5-6, who will be housed at the Summit, will also be at our main campus location to meet students and parents. See you there!
Cross Country is Starting Soon!
Hello! I hope you've all had a great summer and I'm looking forward to another exciting year of cross country at The NCLA! We'll be hosting five home meets this year and we'll have a home course to use for practice. I think that will make it much more fun for the students this year. I look forward to watching them challenge themselves and strive for excellence daily!
Please note that all athletic forms must be completed and submitted to Mr. Lake before students are allowed to practice. If you don't currently have all of the necessary forms, you can access them by visiting The NCLA's homepage, looking to the left of the screen under "The NCLA Links" and clicking on "Docs, Lists and Forms," then clicking on "Athletics."
I will be communicating with you often via email, so please check your email regularly, particularly if it's very hot out or if it's raining on a practice or meet day. I have attached a schedule for the season, and this will soon be available on the NCLA website. Please note that practice starts next Tuesday, August 25. Students on the cross country team are expected to participate in all practices and meets unless they are absent from school or I have previous notice from a parent/guardian. Practices are not optional and repeated absences without notice from a parent/guardian will result in dismissal from the team. Please be sure to make arrangements to pick up your children promptly at the end of each practice and meet.
I look forward to seeing all of you and your children soon, it's going to be a great season! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you and have a great week!

The North Carolina Leadership AcademySoccer Tryouts: Location Change Due to Change of Weather.
Thank you for a great second day of soccer tryouts! I'm excited to see what our kids can do the next couple days. Speaking of the next couple days - the forecast is calling for rain. We will plan on having indoor tryouts 6:30pm at the NCLA gym from 8:00pm. Please bring your indoor or tennis shoes, a drink, and wear the same number that you were given on the first day of tryouts.Coach Fred
Kindergarten Open House
Dear Kindergarten Parents,
Welcome to The NCLA!
By now you should have received a letter and we are so excited to meet all of you. We hope you can attend our meet and greet/open house planned for this Friday, August 21st from 3:00-5:00 p.m. At this time, all new Kindergarten students will meet their teacher and play with classmates on our playground at the NCLA. Parents will move from our play time to have an informational session with the teacher in the classroom. This time will give you an opportunity to hear important classroom information and ask any questions. We will have fun games planned for the new students to get to know one another. We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you on the 21st of August.
We are so excited to meet all of you!
